Pharrell’s 18-year old protegé, singer/rapper Teyana Taylor graces the lookbook for Married to the MOB’s Fall collection, dubbed Smells Like Teen Spirit. The first delivery consists of an array of tees, hoodies, denim, dresses and outwear inspired “from the experiences that the Most Official Bitches crew went through growing up as youths in New York City. They wanted to epitomize the unstoppable feeling of being a teenager in the five boroughs- waking up early, taking the crowded subway to school, or may be not going to class at all, waiting for fights to break out in the lunch room, defending yourself, your crew, or your neighborhood, and of course praying that your extremely fake ID will work at the club.”

mttmnewlips1 New Married to the MOB Logo

Since their launch back in 2004, Married To The MOB have used their puckered lips logo, and now - five years later - they’ve designed a more slick, streamlined version. The reason being is that they  no longer just design tees and hoodies, but have expanded and want their logo to reflect their refined growth. They’ve already pressed the first shirts featuring the new logo. I think it looks dope, but I still do like the original one. I hope they don’t stop pressing the classic lips logo altogether.

Today we give you a look at the Summer collection from Married To The MOB. Dubbed Lost Summer, this is what Leah had to say about the collection:

“I wanted to create a collection that was nostalgic of the summer that totally turned me into a bad girl. First kiss, first joint, first 40 ounce. Might sound silly but it changed my life. Every girl had that summer. If they didn’t then they missed out.”

The new line consists of a lot of great items ranging from tees to shorts, skirts to bikinis, and more. My favourite is the “Well-behaved Bitches Seldom Make History” tee and the black bikini. You can get the items now through their website.

The Summer lookbook was modeled by Sarah ‘Sweet 16′ McSweeney, and shot by David Shadi Perez.

haymarket001 Married to the MOB x Nike Dunk Hi Sample

When working on their collaboration with Nike, Married to the Mob went through a few samples based on luxury brands. One of the samples used Burberry’s trademark plaid pattern. Good thing they scrapped this version. The white/patent black colourway they went with turned out much better.

Update: Leah has stated that these are not MOB Dunks. They were part of the Canal Street pack that Nike scrapped, but they have absolutely no ties to MOB.
