Happy 50th Birthday Barbie!
Tags: Barbie, fashion

She still looks absolutely fabulous, doesn’t she? Barbie celebrates her 50th anniversary this year, and to celebrate there will be events all around the world. In January, they opened the ‘House of Barbie’-t in Shanghai, Jeremy Scott is designing an entire collection for the birthday girl that will be revealed March 12th at Colette. And let’s not forget about the Christian Louboutin shoes she’ll be getting. These, however are not the biggest celebrations. That will be upheld for February 14th, when – as part of New York Fashion Week – a runway show will be held to reveal the Barbie-inspired creations of 50 designers.

Hellz ‘08 Holiday ‘Born Bad’ Collection
Tags: fashion, Hellz, Hellz Bellz

Hellz once again brings the heat. For a while now they have been hands down my favourite women’s brand, and this season only further solidifies their place as my numero uno. The collection was named Born Rad, as an homage to Mae West and all that she represented. Here’s the scoop directly from the horse’s mouth:
“Our Holiday collection represents for the “Born Bad” femme fatale. With West’s racy quotes which sprang, tough-dame style from the side of her mouth, she’s been firmly stamped as the personification of Hellz through her story of survival, persistence, independence and unshakable self-esteem. In her life which ended in 1980, at the age of 87, she became both an icon and pioneer for both men and women everywhere.”
I don’t wanna get into all the details, and mention a few standout pieces because, well.. they’re ALL standout pieces! They get stronger and more mature each season. I always make it a point to cop some new Hellz, but I think I have never had such a tough time choosing. Seriously. It’s that good.
So without further ado, please click on to check out the amazing Holiday collection from Hellz.
