Kaws for Vogue Paris

The work of KAWS graces the pages of Vogue Paris’ November issue. Entitled, “Graffi-Couture”, featuring model Raquel Zimmermann with photography by Mario Sorrenti, the background of the images were painted by the New York artist himself to result in a blending contemporary art and fashion.

Liesbeth Bussche’s Urban Jewelry

Belgian artist, Liesbeth Bussche is most known for her Urban Jewerly project. She uses what is already in the streets, and adds a bit of creativity taking the objects’ original purpose completely out of context, and making the viewer look at them in a whole new way. I think every big city could do with some help from Liesbeth.

Bliss Lau Jewelry

Half Chinese, half Irish, Bliss Lau was raised in Hawaii and studied in New York. She launched her handbag collection immediately after completing a degree in apparel design from Parsons School of Design and finally four years later transitioned the collection into the markedly distinct body-jewelry of today. She blurs the lines between the garment and accessory. All of the jewelry is created and designed three-dimensionally using traditional garment draping techniques. Each season, Bliss focuses on a new part of the body to enhance and decorate, inspiration is found in history, the study of Hawaiian culture or corsets and armor as well as the architecture of New York such as the Brooklyn Bridge and Chrysler building. My favourite is the one above. I NEED!:)

Fafi’s Comic Book

The latest project Fafi has been working on is a new comic book. This is definitely something unexpected, but definitely exciting. Currently, we don’t know too much about the comic, but we can show you some of the sketches, which already look great. You’ll notice that unfortunately, the Fafinettes are not the main characters. The tentative launch date for the comic book is 2010, but we’ll keep you posted.
