Karl Lagerfeld Teddy Bear by Steiff
Karl Lagerfeld has been recreated in teddy bear form. The ones to take on such a challenging feat is German brand, Steiff. The resemblance to the actual Karl is stunning! Well as far at the outfit goes anyhow. The teddy bear is limited to 2500, and releases in September at Neiman Marcus stores. They will go for a whopping $1500.

Judith Leiber ‘Cupcake’ Handbag
First things first. No I still have not gone to see THAT MOVIE. Okay okay, I know, but I’m going today. I went to see it last week, but the line was sooo long and by the time I got there, the tickets were sold out. Whatevs…
What I did hear about the movie besies the clothes, the romantic story, is that Judith Leiber’s Cupcake handbag makes an appearance. After reading up on her, I found out that she’s a fellow Hungarian, who was born Judith Pető:
“Judith Pető was the first woman to join the handbag-makers guild in Budapest. After working as a handbag designer for other companies, Judith Leiber founded her own business in 1963 and quickly established herself as an industry leader at the cutting edge of luxurious fashion. Sold at exclusive boutiques around the world, her handbags cost several thousand dollars and have become a status symbol for many women including several Presidential First Ladies. In 1994, Judith Leiber received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers. Classic examples of her work can be found on permanent display at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, UK. She retired in 1998.”
Her Cupcake bag retails for $4295, but has pretty much sold out everywhere.

R.I.P. Yves Saint Laurent
We’re sure that by now, you’ve all heard that Yves Saint Laurent, one of the greatest designers of the 20th century has died at age 71. Rest in Peace.

H&M Buys Cheap Monday
Yesterday, H&M said it had signed a deal to buy privately owned Swedish fashion company Fabric Scandinavien AB, maker of Cheap Monday jeans. They purchased a 60% stake in the company for a mere $92 mil. from the founders of the company, Adam Friberg, Lars Karlsson, Orjan Andersson and Linda Friberg. H&M also has the possibility to acquire the remaining stake within three to five years.
Fabric Scandinavien also run store chains Weekday and Monki in Sweden. “Weekday is an urban unisex concept with a total of six stores, while Monki’s 12 stores are aimed at young women. With their punk-rock style, trendy tight fit and affordable price, Cheap Monday jeans have become a hot commodity in recent years and are now sold in more than 1,000 stores globally.”
I just wonder how hot of a commodity Cheap Monday will continue to be with their group of hardcore followers.

Looks like M.I.A. has decided to try out her strengths in fields other than music. She’s gone a striked a pose for the Marc by Marc Jacobs 2008 spring/summer collection. True to her own style, she keeps it original rocking both men’s and women’s clothes in the ads.

Atmos x Hello Kitty x Ubiq Grace
Once again, Atmos and Hello Kitty join forces, this time inviting Ubiq to collaborate on their Grace model. They will release Janury 18th. I’m just not sure why Atmos and Ubiq would work together on a men’s shoe with such a girly brand like Hello Kitty… Completely blows my mind that even Hello Kitty has their own men’s line now. WTF??!
