Africa Spotlight in D Mode Magazine
Tags: D Mode Magazine

Either one way or the other but there is no denying Africa has some sort of affect on all us. Influences us, inspires us whether we know it or not. Fashion also turns to the continent frequently to gain inspiration from their abundant world, and to add some a hint of Africa into their modern collections. Herring & Herring offer an editorial in the latest issue of D Mode Magazine showing this odd yet beautiful pairing of ancient and modern.

Edita Vilkeviciute in Numéro #108
Tags: Edita Vilkeviciute, Numero

Found in the pages of Numéro #108 is a beautiful photo shoot by Solve Sundsbo by the equally beautiful Edita Vilkeviciute. I now oiled-up skin, and wet hair is somewhat of a cliché, but I couldn’t care less. Finally a photo editorial where the model isn’t sexy because she bares all. This is a perfect example of less is more.

Demi Moore: Forever Young
Tags: Demi Moore, W Magazine

Demi Moore - who claims to have never gone under any sort of plastic surgery - covers the December issue of W Magazine. She states her youthful look is thanks to a healthy lifestyle and her super genes (ahem…). I’m sure jogging regularly, and eating heaps of organic salads will keep the wrinkles away. Either way, she still looks great, even when not shot with perfect hair, make-up, and under perfect lighting conditions.

Natalie Portman for V Magazine
Tags: Natalie Portman, V Magazine
A complete polar opposite from yesterday’s cover girl (Mrs. Becks) is one of my favourite actresses, Natalie Portman, who graces the cover of the latest issue of V Magazine. Unlike Posh, she plays it straight, is a real woman, and has no traces of superficiality. I mean, how rare is it for someone who has everything going for her, put acting on the backburner to go to school and get a degree at Harvard, and not once has said she’d rather be smart than famous. If I were a guy, she’d be my muse.
Enough of my jabbering. Check out more from the photoshoot after the jump.
Victoria Beckham Covers Harper’s Bazaar (Yawn)
Tags: Harper's Bazaar, Victoria Beckham

The latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar has Victoria Beckham on the cover making her usual, boring, and drab face we’ve grown accustomed to seeing in magazines. Inside the mag, she even shares her “secrets” with us. I’m intrigued. Anyway, in the photos she looks more like a disinterested, spiritless wax doll than a successful, jovial, flesh and blood woman.

The work of KAWS graces the pages of Vogue Paris’ November issue. Entitled, “Graffi-Couture”, featuring model Raquel Zimmermann with photography by Mario Sorrenti, the background of the images were painted by the New York artist himself to result in a blending contemporary art and fashion.

Eniko Mihalik in Vogue Paris ‘09 November
Tags: Eniko Mihalik, Vogue Paris

While doing my daily browsing I stumbled onto an exciting photo editorial published in the November issue of Vogue Paris (aka French Vogue). The photos are akin to those images that I happily kill time with staring at soaking up all its beauty. I love when certain movements and poses hold a great deal of expression and character, and get your creative juices flowing. Well, this is exactly what I get from these images featuring my home girl, Eniko Mihalik.

Naked Beauty: Natasha Poly in MUSE
Tags: David Hamilton, MUSE, Natasha Poly

Found in the pages of the latest issue of MUSE is a photo spread of Natasha Poly showing the way nudity should be portrayed in magazines (think the complete opposite of Terry Richardson). Nothing slutty or provocative (yes, there’s a place for that too, don’t get me wrong), just the beautiful female form in all its glory. I’d like to offer my sincere congratulations to photographer, David Hamilton for creating such lovely images.

Natalia Vodianova and the Russian Fairy Tale
Tags: magazines, Natalia Vodianova

Covering the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar Russia is the baby-faced Natalia Vodianova. It’s hard to believe that the famous model is a mother who had her humble beginnings serving customers at a grocery stand in the town of Nyizsnyij Novgorod. She’s now the wife of the super-wealthy Justin Portman, and I bet the only time she sees groceries is when she opens the fridge.

Anja Rubik in Self Service
Tags: Anja Rubik, magazines, Self Service

In the latest issue of Self Service, Anja Rubik makes an appearance in a photo editorial, showing the Polish model in a myriad of poses, clothes, and situations. In one, she’s naked, clutching a dog. In another one, showing her behind, while sipping on some cola. I love these photos. Kudos to Katja Rahlwes for the great images.
