Another Look from Marc Jacobs 2010 Spring/Summer

Posing in an ad for Marc Jacobs’ 2010 Spring/Summer campaign is American model, Jamie Bochert. You might be familiar with her from previous campaigns with Rodart for Target. Following up on her first ad for the upcoming Marc Jacobs collection, which elegantly paired her with a toilet, we now see her on her back doing the splits.

Atelier Swarovski 2010 Spring/Summer
Tags: Jason Wu, Matthew Williamson, Nicholas Kirkwood, Swarovski, Zaha Hadid

Atelier Swarovski launches its sixth collection with Spring/Summer 2010 featuring exclusive, crystal jewelry and accessories in collaboration with Matthew Williamson, Zaha Hadid, Jason Wu and Nicholas Kirkwood.
Matthew Williamson drew inspiration from the artist Jim Lambie’s work, which is primarily
concerned with the combination of abstracted floral and strong graphic elements. Williamson designed a collection of accessories which articulate these themes. The pieces are
oversized to create a statement in a vibrant palette, signature to the Matthew Williamson
aesthetic.
Zaha Hadid’s enigmatic new Glace collection celebrates a powerful dichotomy between the purity of
Swarovski’s precision cut crystals and the subtle, organic forms that envelop them.
Each piece within the collection has evolved as an abstraction of the sinuous forms evident in
nature, revealing Hadid’s desire for experimentation and invention throughout every stage of
design and realization.
Jason Wu’s designs exhibit the same texture and sculptural details seen in his work.
The pieces are a study in contrast, with exposed chainmail and burnished metal alongside
delicate crystals.
Nicholas Kirkwood felt it was important to stay true to the aesthetic that he applies when designing his shoes: sharp but ultimately feminine, and a considered diversity of texture.
I think I’m in love with all of these, but my favourites are the one seen up top. To check out all four collections, continue reading.

Alexander Wang 2010 Spring/Summer
Tags: Alexander Wang
I’m counting the weeks, and am starting to get happy about the fact that – although very slowly – the days are starting to get longer, which means we’re approaching Spring. But with the crazy weather we’re having, I won’t be surprised if I’m shoveling snow come Spring. Either way, since the sun has been shining the past day or two, I’ve started browsing through some more lighter clothes, and stumbled onto some of my favourite pieces (so far) for the Spring from Alexander Wang’s upcoming S/S line.
The models in the photos are Liu Wen, Edita Vilkeviciute, Anja Rubik, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Hanne Gaby Odiele and Mirte Maas.

Sonia Rykiel for H&M 2010 Spring Lookbook
Tags: H&M, Sonia Rykiel

Following the lingerie collection Sonia Rykiel designed for H&M comes the line of clothing, which is set to launch in February. The collection will be available at over 500 stores worldwide. Unfortunately, I don’t find this collection all that much exciting either. By judging from the images, it doesn’t seem that we’ll have a whole lot to look forward to come Spring.

Coco Chanel’s Paris Apartment

Coco Chanel’s Paris apartment was just above her boutique at Rue Cambon 31. It was here that models would show new collections to potential buyers, but today it’s mostly used for press interviews and fashion shoots. The apartment provides a look into the world of Coco Chanel, and still has many of her own personal belongings displayed throughout including a few cigarette holders given to her by one of her lovers, the Duke of Westminster. The most peculiar thing is that although it was her apartment, there’s no bedroom. Every night, she’d retire to her private room at the Ritz just down the street. And every morning before heading back to the boutique, she’d call to have them spray it full of Chanel No.5.
