It was really the only logical next step in the evermore controversial ads that make up American Apparel’s marketing strategy that full-frontal nudity, and the use of porn stars would be inevitable. It was merely just a question of when. Well, there is no time like the present, and the brand’s latest ads feature adult film stars like Sasha Grey, Charlotte Stokely, and more. The ads come in the form of Skyscraper banners, and have started appearing on websites like the Reverse Cowgirl Blog, and Debauchette. The ads were conceptualized by Kyung Chung, who also shot the photos. Chung, by the way, happens to be a woman.

Check out the other ads after the jump. (Also NSFW.)

I have been thinking long and hard about this. As a sexual person, who could die happy tomorrow if sex replaced violence as common theme in today’s culture.

Something about these ad’s rubs me the wrong way. Simply put they lack a good sales pitch or selling message. Check my blog post for an example of nudity in sales done RIGHT!

But hey, yay for boobies.

When did open blantly nude boys and girls become a selling item and not be deemed illegal pornography? These girls cannot be over 16-18 years old if that, however, I’m sure someone will identify them as being 21, right? Right!
Lets stop selling sex and market the real product.

Phil,

Sasha Grey is 22, actually:

American Apparel has been showing nudity with its products for years now. And no one has gotten hurt. It is selling the product by creating an edgy image, whether or not it makes some people uncomfortable.
